Some terms sound more technical than they really are. The most important points are briefly explained below.
The provider name and detected version appear in the large result card above. A browser is the program you use to open websites, such as Chrome, Firefox, Edge or Safari.
BrowserDetails.org compares the detected version with published manufacturer data. During staged rollouts a newer version may exist before it is offered to everyone. The status will then read “Rolling out”.
Modern browsers reduce some details for privacy reasons. Where possible, the page supplements missing values through Client Hints. Safari and Firefox expose fewer details than Chromium-based browsers.
JavaScript allows websites to react to input and load content dynamically. When it is disabled, many forms, menus and web applications work only in a limited way or not at all.
By default it contains browser, version, operating system, device type and JavaScript status. IP address, screen size and the full user agent are included only when you choose them.
It is not stored in a support card during a normal visit. It is included in an encrypted, time-limited report only when you explicitly select it.
No! An up-to-date browser closes known security vulnerabilities and is therefore an important foundation for a secure computer system. An updated operating system, careful handling of downloads and strong passwords are just as important (tip: www.starkespasswort.de).
Tor Browser is based on Firefox ESR and deliberately presents itself to websites as Firefox. This makes fingerprinting more difficult and is part of its privacy design. A website therefore cannot reliably distinguish Firefox from Tor Browser. Otherwise, it would be easy to block Tor users, for example.
